Toronto Maple Leafs forward David Kampf has made a huge decision pertaining to his hockey career, and it comes just days after a disappointing playoff exit.
David Kampf is a player who did not see a lot of ice time in the NHL Playoffs with the Toronto Maple Leafs this season.
Prior to the playoffs, Kampf was injured. Once he returned, the lineup was already set and Craig Berube didn't have much interest in changing things up.
Eventually, the forward entered the lineup in Game 5 against the Florida Panthers, but that match was such a disaster that Kampf came right back out of the lineup.
Just days after a Game 7 disaster against the Panthers, the fourth-line forward has made a major decision pertaining to his hockey career. In fact, it is the same decision that
William Nylander just made.
David Kampf at the IIHF World Championships
According to Chris Johnston of TSN, David Kampf is at the IIHF World Championships, where he is about to play for Team Czechia.
In fact, Czechia is going to be playing against Team Sweden in the quarter-finals, which means he has to go up against his teammate, Nylander.
This is going to be an interesting offseason for Kampf, who still has some term left on his contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
There are some fans out there who believe he should no longer be on the team and that he needs to be traded.
Hopefully, Kampf and Nylander both have themselves a good game today. For one of these players, they will be going home just as soon as they arrive.
