Former Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Jay Rosehill has been following the team all season and with the playoffs on the horizon, he has a blunt message for fans.
The
Toronto Maple Leafs have been playoff chokers for eight seasons now which has left a lot of fans disengaged when it comes to Spring time hockey.
However, this season feels a lot different. The defense is better. The goaltending is better. Meanwhile, Craig Berube has this team playing a whole lot tougher.
Despite all of this, Maple Leafs fans remain skeptical as they don't want to be disappointed by another early playoff exit.
Jay Rosehill lets Maple Leafs fans know what's up
Jay Rosehill of Leafs Morning Take isn't having it right now when it comes to these attitudes. In fact, the former NHL enforcer is feeling more optimistic than he ever has before.
So much so that on a recent episode of Leafs Morning Take, he took aim at all of the Toronto Maple Leafs fans out there who continue to be negative about the team.
Essentially, he wants all of these fans to get optimistic or just give up on following the team altogether. Strong words but they are most certainly valid.
"If you're not thinking positively right now, then just don't follow the team!"
If there was ever a season where the Leafs turn the tide for good, it would be this one. However, there are never any guarantees when it comes to hockey.
The playoffs will test you and they will beat you down if you let them. Having said that, fans are going to remain a bit skeptical on the Leafs prove they can really win at the highest level.
This is going to be a fascinating few months and we cannot wait to see if this is the year where they get over the hump and at least make the Eastern Conference Finals.
