Tonight, the Florida Panthers will look to eliminate the Toronto Maple Leafs from the NHL Playoffs, but it won't be easy thanks to an injury in the lineup.
Despite his absence, the Panthers were able to smoke the Leafs by a score of 6-1. It was a pathetic score line, and the fans were absolutely livid with the effort or lack thereof.
Tonight is Game 6, and the Panthers have the Leafs on the ropes. However, one question persists, and it has to do with Rodrigues.
According to Mark Masters, a Maple Leafs reporter for TSN, Rodrigues was at Morning Skate, however, he stayed out for a lot longer than usual.
If you are familiar with protocol, then you know that this means it is likelier than not that we will not see Rodrigues in tonight's game. He will remain out of the lineup.
Despite this, the Panthers have shown that they can win with this current construction. In fact, it appears as though they are keeping the same lineup as Wednesday.
For the Toronto Maple Leafs, the stakes could not be any higher in this game. If they lose, they will look like absolute chumps and for very good reason.
They had a 2-0 series lead, and now, they have lost three in a row, which is egregious for a team with so many offensive weapons up and down the lineup.
Only time will tell whether or not this Leafs team has the heart to go out there and force that pivotal Game 7 on home ice.
As for Evan Rodrigues, we hope he is doing well, and we wish him a speedy recovery.
