Former Toronto Maple Leafs Forward Hits 50 Points in 11 Games in Australia
David Booth played one season with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and now, he is in the Australian Ice Hockey League, tearing his competition completely apart.
When you think of journeymen in hockey,
David Booth is definitely someone you should be thinking about.
He played over 500 games for a plethora of teams, including the Florida Panthers, Vancouver Canucks, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Detroit Red Wings.
He also played some stints in the KHL, and even had a season in Germany with the DEL. Now, however, he is playing for the Melbourne Ice of the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL).
David Booth destroys the AIHL
As it turns out, Booth's first season in Australia has proven to be one of the best the league has ever seen.
Last night, Booth hit a massive milestone. 50 points. How many games did it take him to do this? Just 11. That's right, he is averaging almost five points per game.
It is a pretty ridiculous number, all things considered, and it makes you wonder about what his competition is thinking.
Whether or not Booth will be able to keep up this kind of pace, still remains to be seen. However, you cannot help but give the guy some props.
Doing these kinds of things at the age of 40 is impressive and should be called out as such.
Hopefully, the Melbourne Ice continue to thrive with their new player, who seems to have a new lease on life.
If he keeps this up, then that team is going to be in a prime position to win themselves a championship.
