Josh Leivo, a forward who once played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, is now going to continue his career in the KHL after a ridiculous contract termination.
Last season with Ufa Salavat Yulayev, former Toronto Maple Leafs forward
Josh Leivo pulled off an incredible feat by breaking the single-season KHL scoring record.
With 49 goals, Leivo tore up the league, and he managed to add 31 assists, which brought up his point totals to 80.
After all, if you like a player enough, you should be seeking to help out their situation and get them the help they need so they can continue to play for the team long-term.
Josh Leivo remains in the KHL
Luckily, for Leivo, he has found a new home in the KHL, as there was always going to be a team willing to go out of its way for the forward.
That team just so happens to be Traktor Chelyabinsk, who will be paying Leivo just over $1 million per season. He will also make an extra $1 million in performance bonuses.
If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, you probably remember Leivo as a solid player who was just never able to get himself to the top of the lineup.
However, he is one of those players who has become a true success story in the KHL, and that is very cool to see.
Only time will tell whether or not his upcoming season with Traktor will be as good as his years with Salavat.
The KHL is a fascinating league, and Leivo's success over there has certainly been one of its best stories of the last year or so.
