Former Toronto Maple Leafs Goaltender Dead at 62
Former Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Mark Laforest has unfortunately passed away at the age of 62 and the team paid tribute to him earlier today.
It is always sad news when you report the passing of a respected hockey figure and that is especially true when discussing
Mark Laforest, who recently passed away at the age of 62.
The goaltender had a lengthy hockey career where he bounced around the NHL, AHL, and even the IHL, playing for a plethora of teams and being a great teammate to everyone who knew him.
He played for the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 1989-90 season and even got to play in a total of 27 games, which is certainly noteworthy.
Throughout his career, he also got to play for the Detroit Red Wings, Philadelphia Flyers, and even the Ottawa Senators.
He is someone who loved the game of hockey and he loved his time with the Leafs to the point where he even went to many alumni events.
We are saddened to learn that former Leafs goalie Mark Laforest (affectionately known as «Trees») has passed away.
Mark appeared in 27 games for the Maple Leafs during the 1989-90 season and after his retirement, appeared at many NHL alumni events.
This is very sad news and our heart goes out to the Laforest family during this very sad and painful time.
We have lost too many good people in the hockey world over the years, and Mark Laforest is certainly one of those people.
He will forever be remembered by his teammates and he is someone who was a great representative of our sport.
