Elliotte Friedman Reveals Who the Toronto Maple Leafs Starting Goalie Will Be in the Playoffs

The Toronto Maple Leafs have to make a choice between Anthony Stolarz and Joseph Woll come playoff time and it seems like Elliotte Friedman has answers.
Anthony Stolarz and Joseph Woll are two goaltenders who have saved the day quite a bit for the Maple Leafs this season.
However, going into the playoffs, there is still no telling which of these guys is going to end up being the starter.
In fact, there have been rumors that Craig Berube wants to split the action just like he has done so in the regular season.
Anthony Stolarz or Joseph Woll?
This would be unprecedented to say the least, and during a recent appearance on Sportsnet radio, Elliotte Friedman spoke on the Leafs situation.
In his mind, it is all but guaranteed that both guys are going to play, although he does foresee Stolarz being the favorite to start most of the games.
Right now, Stolarz is ahead. But who knows? We still have 2 weeks to go in the season, right?
So, I don't understand how people can't get their heads wrapped around the fact that if the Maple Leafs go on a dep run, both of these guys are going to play.
I don't think this is a goaltending setup as we are used to. It's gonna be something different - Woll and Stolarz, they're not guys who are used to playing 70 games or 25 games in a row.
They're both guys who have gotten hurt before. They're gonna need both of these guys. And I don't even think it will be performance-related.
There's gonna be times where they look at it and go, 'This guy needs a rest and the other guy's gotta play.' I just think that's the way it's gonna work.

There is no denying that Stolarz has the better statistics right now, although Woll has more playoff experience at this moment.
Either way, the Leafs are in a good position to go on a deep run, especially if they are able to win the division and play a Wild Card team in the first round.
As it stands, that would be a matchup against the Ottawa Senators, which is something a lot of Canadian hockey fans would love to see.
Whatever the case may be, the Leafs have two solid goalies and that is a lot better than having none.
