Anthony Stolarz has not been much better as of late and this has been problematic for the Leafs who are currently in the business of trying to win
the Atlantic Division and go on a playoff run.
Without good goaltending, doing anything in the postseason is going to prove to be impossible and fans are certainly worried about what's going to happen if neither goalie finds their game.
Are Joseph Woll and Anthony Stolarz cooked?
Unfortunately, with Berube's comments about Woll going viral, both goaltenders are under more scrutiny than they have faced all season and the statistics are being exposed.
In fact, Sportsnet reporter Luke Fox took it upon himself to look at both goaltenders' save percentages in the month of February and how they have developed in the month of March.
As you are going to see below, it is all very worrisome as Stolarz has gone from a .925 to a .882 and Woll has gone from a .921 to a .888.
Maple Leafs, save percentages
Anthony Stolarz
February: .925
March: .882
Joseph Woll
February: .921
March: .888
Quite frankly, these are not the numbers that win championships and they are not the type of numbers that even get you out of the first round.
Since the 4 Nations Face-Off, the Leafs have had the easiest strength of schedule in the league, yet the goalies aren't able to keep up and that spells trouble with the postseason coming up in about three weeks from now.
Maple Leafs fans around the world are hoping for one of these guys to step up and show the world what they can do. Until then, this is going to be a very bad situation.
