Craig Berube Just Put Anthony Stolarz & Joseph Woll on Notice with Some Questionable Comments

The Toronto Maple Leafs goaltenders have not been especially good as of late with Anthony Stolarz and Joseph Woll playing some of their worst games of the season.

With the playoffs on the horizon, this is incredibly distressing and you can imagine the stress head coach Craig Berube is feeling knowing he doesn't have a bonafide number one.

After Woll allowed five goals on 35 shots last night, Berube spoke up and he did so in a way that was both blunt and quite frankly, a bit shocking.

Today, the Toronto Maple Leafs are in Los Angeles as they are set to take on the Kings on Saturday night in what should be an interesting matchup.

The team was on the ice for practice today, and it was here where Berube spoke to the media following his controversial comments from Thursday night.

One journalist asked the head coach whether or not he had picked out his goaltender for Saturday night. The team also plays on Sunday against the Anaheim Ducks so no matter what, both Woll and Stolarz will be seeing some action.

As Luke Fox of Sportsnet reports, Berube is refusing to name a starter for Saturday night as he simply has not come to a conclusion yet.

Considering Woll played just last night and was not particularly good, it would seem logical that Anthony Stolarz would get the nod.

However, the mere fact that Berube won't name him as the starter right now demonstrates a lack of confidence in both goaltenders, which is a real problem.

We did find out that Pontus Holmberg will be back in the lineup on Saturday, but that isn't nearly as interesting as the goaltending situation.

Only time will tell whether or not Woll and Stolarz can get back in Craig Berube's good graces.
