Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Joseph Woll was not good against the San Jose Sharks last night and Craig Berube seems to have had enough with the inconsistency.
Last night, the Toronto Maple Leafs took on the San Jose Sharks in a game that should have been a sure-win for them.
However, just like the last time these two teams played, it was the Sharks who came away with the win, in a shootout.
This time around, there was much more scoring as both goaltenders did not bring their best game, something that can especially be stated for
Joseph Woll, who has been bad in back-to-back starts.
Joseph Woll called out by Craig Berube
Afterwards, head coach Craig Berube was especially harsh on Joseph Woll stating that the goaltender needs to be a lot better, as does the rest of the team.
Craig Berube: "We all got to be better, goalie included. It's not good enough."
Maple Leafs declined to make Joseph Woll available postgame.
It was reported by Luke Fox of Sportsnet that in his last two games, Joseph Woll has allowed nine goals against the two worst offenses in the NHL.
With the playoffs coming up very soon, this is very concerning stuff and one has to wonder if the Leafs can get by against the best teams in the league with this kind of play.
Woll now has a goals-against average of 2.80 and a save percentage of .905 which is just average and is not particularly great compared to
Anthony Stolarz.
If anything, last night's game has made Craig Berube's job a whole lot harder as now he really doesn't know who his playoff starter should be.
