Mitch Marner's Comments About Max Domi Will Come as a Surprise to Toronto Maple Leafs Fans

Mitch Marner is currently in the midst of one of the best seasons of his entire career and there is no doubt that he has been the MVP of the Maple Leafs.

He has 23 goals and 68 assists for a total of 91 points in just 73 games. He has a chance to hit 100 points although he only has eight more games to do it.

A player who has had the opposite season is Max Domi, with just eight goals this season, five of which coming in the month of March. You can just imagine how poor his start to the season was.

On Sunday night against the Anaheim Ducks, the Maple Leafs came away with a huge win and the first goal of the game just so happened to be scored by Domi.

It was easily the forward's best goal of the entire season as he deked around defenders and eventually roofed the puck with a well-placed backhand.

After the game, Mitch Marner spoke about the goal scored by Domi and had some truly gushing remarks about it, noting that he's always known the forward has that kind of stuff in him.

The Toronto Maple Leafs would love to see this kind of offense from Max Domi during the NHL playoffs as those are coming up in about two weeks from now.

Overall, the Leafs only have eight games left and they are competing for the Atlantic Division title. A game on Wednesday against the Florida Panthers will be instrumental in them potentially capturing the Atlantic.

If the Leafs can get some big-time production out of Domi, then they could be in for a solid few months of playoff hockey. Or at least that is what fans are hoping.
