Brad Treliving needs to improve the Toronto Maple Leafs, and in order to do that, a trade would have to be made. Unfortunately, he has yet to make one so far.
Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has one of the toughest jobs in hockey as he manages one of the sport's most popular franchises.
The fans want to see results, and when they do not see results, they get angry. It's the harsh reality, but it is one that Treliving takes in stride.
However, they also need to move on from depth forwards like
Calle Jarnkrok,
David Kampf, and perhaps even Nick Robertson, although he is looking like a keeper at this point.

According to David Pagnotta, there is a reason why Treliving has yet to trade away those aforementioned depth forwards.
Simply put, the team does not want to give them away for nothing, and rival teams just aren't coming through with deals they like.
Toronto continues to make calls on some of their depth forwards, but word around the NHL is they refuse to give them away for nothing; [they] prefer to move out a body for draft capital
While there is no rush to get anything done at this juncture, fans are starting to get impatient, especially with the team's middling start to the season.
Hopefully, Treliving is able to find a trade partner soon, before this all starts to unravel.
