Jonathan Toews Officially Announces His New Team, Contract Details Revealed

Jonathan Toews has been plotting his NHL comeback for some time now, and on Friday, it was revealed which team he will sign with in free agency.
After being courted by the Toronto Maple Leafs, Colorado Avalanche, and many more,
Jonathan Toews has decided on where he would like to spend his NHL comeback season.
According to Pierre LeBrun of TSN, he will be going to his hometown team, the Winnipeg Jets. They were contenders for Toews from the very beginning.
Hearing that Jonathan Toews has an agreement to sign with the Winnipeg Jets. The contract can't be registered until July 1. But Toews has decided to join his hometown Jets according to league sources.
The forward cannot sign the contract until July 1st, but he already has an agreement in place. As for the terms of the deal, Toews is getting a one-year contract.
It was expected that Toews would make his decision by the NHL Draft; however, it seems like the three-time Stanley Cup champion already has his mind made up.
At the end of the day, Toews is from Winnipeg, and there were all sorts of rumblings about how the Jets would probably be the most likely destination for him.

However, at 37 years old and a two-year hiatus behind him, there is no guarantee that Toews will hop on the ice this season and become a success. It could take some time.
Having said that, we can't help but wish Toews the best in this upcoming journey. It is cool to watch him come back with his childhood team.
Needless to say, Toews' comeback will cerainly be one of the best storylines of next season, and the Jets are lucky to be apart of it.
