Jonathan Toews Becomes Latest Free Agent to Brutally Reject the Toronto Maple Leafs

Free agent forward Jonathan Toews has numerous teams trying to sign him, and the Toronto Maple Leafs have been one of the many franchises leading that charge.
Jonathan Toews is among the biggest stories in free agency this summer. Overall, the forward is looking to make a comeback after a two-season hiatus.
He is 37 years old, but some believe he can make a real impact on a team. In fact, there are numerous teams trying to court his services, and the Maple Leafs are one of them.
There seem to be three to four teams with a viable shot at securing Toews' services, and at one point, the Leafs were thought to be realistic candidates.

However, it would appear as though things have changed. Yesterday, we reported that Toews was down to just two teams, including the Colorado Avalanche and the Winnipeg Jets.
Now, Frank Seravalli is pouring salt in the wound, noting that Toews likely doesn't have the stomach for Toronto given the media market and just how much scrutiny the franchise gets.
In addition to Colorado and Winnipeg, I'm guessing Vegas or Toronto are interested in Jonathan Toews; not sure he has the stomach to go to Toronto
Overall, this is very bad news for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Toews is yet another free agent who doesn't seem all that interested in coming to Toronto.
Yesterday, it was revealed that Sam Bennett does not have the Leafs on his list of preferred teams in free agency, which is yet another blow to the franchise.
Ultimately, the Leafs are going to have trouble attracting big names to the team. This has always been true, but it is especially true this season.
Whether or not the Maple Leafs can still improve the roster in free agency, remains to be seen.
