Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews is being asked to speak out following the recent controversial comments from goaltender Anthony Stolarz.

Anthony Stolarz caused quite the stir when he came out and criticized his Toronto Maple Leafs teammates after a horrible game against the Seattle Kraken.
William Nylander was indirectly shouted out, and it led to some fallout online. While Nylander says it's not a big deal, head coach Craig Berube wasn't happy with Stolarz going public.
At the end of the day, this could ruin the team's chemistry, which is already on shaky ground to start out the NHL season.

Auston Matthews speaks on the Anthony Stolarz situation

Today at practice, Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews was asked about the goaltender's comments, and whether or not this is something that needs to be addressed.
Matthews made it clear that there is absolutely no issue with what Stolarz said. Instead, the team had a conversation, and now, they will move past it.
We're a veteran group. We're all big boys. You don't need to beat around the bush. It's an easy conversation we all had & you just move on, close the door ... We gotta be better & we will be
The Toronto Maple Leafs are playing against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night, and this will give them an opportunity to make things right.
Although it is not going to be easy, there is now some motivation to go out and play hard. After being called out by your goalie, you need to show some life.
There is no question that the Leafs are one of the most disappointing teams of the season so far, but at 3-2-1, it's not like they are doomed going forward.
There is still lots of time for this team to turn things around, and show the fans that they really do have what it takes to potentially win the Atlantic Division.
