Toronto Maple Leafs rookie Easton Cowan was able to get an assist last week, but since then, he has gone scoreless in some frustrating hockey games.
Easton Cowan's debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs had a ton of fanfare surrounding it, although the kid hasn't exactly been productive in the last few games.
Despite generating scoring chances, he has been unable to get on the board, and after a loss to the Seattle Kraken on Saturday, it felt like changes could be coming.
Easton Cowan taken out of the lineup
Below, you can see that Cowan is projected to be a healthy scratch. Taking his place on the first line will actually be
Max Domi.
Meanwhile,
Dakota Joshua is being promoted from the fourth line up to the third line. This subsequently means a demotion for Nick Robertson to the fourth line.
The defensive pairings are going to stay the same, and it feels like
Anthony Stolarz is a given to get the start.
Knies - Matthews - Domi
Maccelli - Tavares - Nylander
Joshua - Roy - McMann
Robertson - Lorentz - Jarnkrok
Blais, Cowan
McCabe - Tanev
Rielly - Carlo
Benoit - Ekman-Larsson
Myers
Stolarz

At the end of the day, the Toronto Maple Leafs need to start winning games in a commanding fashion, otherwise, there are going to be some big questions.
The team's record is 3-2-1, and while this is by no means a disaster, it still isn't good enough to win the Atlantic Division.
A win against the New Jersey Devils could be huge, especially with back-to-back games against the Buffalo Sabres coming up this weekend.
