Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube has yet to pick a starting goalie this season and it doesn't feel like the playoffs will inspire him to make a decision.
Craig Berube on the starting goalie dilemma
After morning skate today, the head coach was asked about this dilemma and whether or not he was truly serious about doing this.
Unfortunately, Craig Berube did not give a solid answer and instead, actually gave fans the runaround, noting that they might do it, but they also might not. It's unlikely, but also not ruled out. Confusing to say the least.
«I never have. I've had to put goalies in situations, but that's something I've never done. It's always a question we'll discuss and go over at some point here. Maybe we already have. We'll see.»
At the end of the day, the Leafs are going to need consistency in goal if they want to go deep into the playoffs and rotating goalies is not the best way to go about this.
While Stolarz and Woll have both been great, it would just be better for the team if one guy got the job and that was it. It's a tough call to make but it has to get done.
If we had to guess, Stolarz is the favorite right now, but that can change especially with a game against the Florida Panthers coming up tonight.
Only time will tell what Craig Berube decides and if that ends up being the correct decision for this team. If there is one thing for certain, it is that fans are hopeful about it.
