Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Anthony Stolarz has struggled over the past three games, and with Cayden Primeau winning two in a row, Craig Berube has a tough choice.
However, it's not all bad. Stolarz is healthy, and if he gets his team playing well in front of him, then he can start to rack up the wins again.
Tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs play against the Calgary Flames. Tomorrow, they are back in action against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
With Cayden Primeau winning his first two starts, some have wondered if Stolarz would get the start against Calgary. Now, we know our answer.
Anthony Stolarz to start for the Toronto Maple Leafs
According to Mark Masters, Stolarz found himself in the starter's net today at morning skate. This typically suggests when a goaltender is projected to be the starter.
At the end of the day, it makes sense that Stolarz would be given the start, as it is rare for a backup goalie to get two games in a row when the starter is healthy.
Having said that, things will get interesting over the next couple of weeks, especially when you consider the situation involving
Joseph Woll.
He is working his way back into the Toronto Maple Leafs lineup, and we could see him finally play his first game of the season in a couple of weeks from now.
While things haven't been fun to start the season, this back-to-back with the Blue Jackets and Flames is a good opportunity to start racking up some wins.
If the Leafs can't do that, then this will truly be an October to forget for the franchise.
