Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews is looking to have a bounce-back season, and he appears to have found the perfect way to get in shape.
Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs are looking to have a big season, especially following an unfortunate playoff exit at the hands of the Florida Panthers.
Overall, it is not going to be an easy season for the Leafs, as
Mitch Marner is no longer on the team. Meanwhile, Matthews is looking to bounce back after only scoring 33 goals last season.
It is expected that Matthews will be fully healthy, which will certainly go a long way in easing the fears of Leafs fans.
Not to mention, he is fresh off Team USA Orientation Camp, which shows that he is in the right headspace to play some hockey right about now.

As it turns out, the captain is so locked in that today, he was spotted in Toronto putting some work in on the ice.
This is a very good sign, as it shows that Matthews wants to perfect his craft, even when the Maple Leafs aren't officially in session.
Overall, this showcases some strong leadership abilities from the captain, who is going into his second season as the official leader of the team.
When he took the job from
John Tavares, many were concerned that he wasn't going to be able to handle the pressure.
However, if one thing is for certain, it is that the captain has been able to prove some of the biggest doubters wrong.
Only time will tell whether or not this season brings back the vintage Auston Matthews we know and love.
