Max Domi is a player who plays on the edge at all times, and against the New York Islanders on Thursday, the forward found himself in an interesting situation after a hit on Isaiah George.
Max Domi and Patrick Roy go back and forth on Isaiah George hit
After the game, New York Islanders head coach Patrick Roy expressed his anger with the officiating crew as he felt like Domi's hit was an obvious head shot.
"Well, I guess we have a different opinion of the situation and that hit, which, to me, was clearly a headshot."
Domi was then asked about the comments as well as the prevailing sentiment that what he did was illegal.
As you will read below, the Maple Leafs forward believes anyone who holds such an opinion has never actually played the game of hockey.
"It's part of the game, right? Got to be physical and get in on the forecheck. Separated the body from the puck, and Robbie and Bobby did the rest. I think you have to play to understand that one. So just go watch that. That was pretty clean, that one. That's a good way of doing it."
