Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi laid a huge hit on Isaiah George and while it seemed fairly clean, the NHL Department of Player Safety may come calling.
Tonight, the Toronto Maple Leafs are playing a rematch against the New York Islanders, and once again,
Max Domi's line with
Bobby McMann and Nick Robertson is leading the way.
Max Domi commits a big no-no against the New York Islanders and Isaiah George
In the second period, Bobby McMann opened the scoring against the Islanders with a goal assisted by Nick Robertson.
Domi was on the ice during the play and while he did not get himself an assist, he did contribute in another way.
In the clip below, you can see Isaiah George skate towards Domi so that he could retrieve the puck.
However, the Maple Leafs forward could sense that the Islanders player was coming, and he turned around while delivering an elbow that hit George near the head.
George went down fast, and he eventually went back to the locker room so that he could be tended to.
Moreover, it has been said numerous times this year that the DoPS seems to have an ongoing anti-Maple Leafs bias.
For all intents and purposes, this hit seems like a nothing burger but the proximity to the head may tell a different story on Friday.
Apart from that, Domi had a great game as he assisted on Bobby McMann's game-winning goal late in the third period.
