Anaheim Ducks forward Mason McTavish is currently a restricted free agent, and with neither side rushing for a deal, it feels like the Toronto Maple Leafs could get active.

Mason McTavish is a power forward who has been steadily improving every single season with the Anaheim Ducks. In fact, he had a career-high 22 goals and 52 points last season.
However, he is now a restricted free agent who has yet to sign a new deal with his current team, the Anaheim Ducks. This has led to a lot of speculation about what is going to happen next.
For instance, Frank Seravalli believes there is some offer sheet interest. Moreover, the circumstances make it so that a trade could be possible as well.

Mason McTavish to the Toronto Maple Leafs?

Seravalli notes that the Ducks have a ton of cap space, which means it would be extremely difficult for someone to swoop in with an offer sheet.
However, a sign and trade could be good as well, especially if McTavish makes it clear that he doesn't want to be in Anaheim anymore.
Needless to say, this is an interesting situation that has many in the hockey world talking.
He's one name to watch for me moving forward. I think it's been a tough go for McTavish in Anaheim.

I view McTavish, I don't know if mental standpoint or body language...but he's a guy who's a really solid player that has been beaten down by a lot of losses.

I find that's similar to Trevor Zegras. I think a change of scenery would be good for him, I think there's a lot of teams interested.

I think some teams are working on what an offer sheet might look like for McTavish, which will be a struggle much like the Zegras contract.

I don't think there's anyway the Ducks won't be able to match an offer sheet if teams go that route, but Mason McTavish, he's a name to keep an eye on.

As for the Toronto Maple Leafs, this could open up an avenue for the team to acquire a second-line player with a ton of potential.
That said, fans should not get their hopes up. Instead, they should simply pay attention to what is happening these days.
