Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies has been phenomenal in his young NHL career and he has been receiving praise from head coach Craig Berube.

Matthew Knies has easily been one of the most impressive players on the Toronto Maple Leafs this season as he continues to improve upon his rookie campaign.
With 25 goals and 47 points, the 22-year-old has proven that he can hack it at the NHL level and there is this real sense that he is going to be a star for years to come.
Playing on a line with Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews certainly helps his case, but we digress.

Matthew Knies on his health as playoffs loom large

Last season, Knies has some consistency problems down the stretch and a lot of it had to do with conditioning.
With the Maple Leafs organization hoping for a big playoff run this season, many are wondering if the forward is going to be able to carry such a work load.
While speaking to the media, Matthew Knies made it clear that he is feeling great right now and that he should have no problems as the games become more important.
"I feel a lot better, honestly, than I did last year at this time. I think my body's a lot more used to it. I know how to take care of myself better. I still feel refreshed."
His head coach Craig Berube is a big fan of his and recently, he spoke on the incredible achievement of reaching both 25 goals and 150 hits.
"He forechecks extremely well. He gets in on top of people, quickly closes and makes contact and wins a lot of those puck battles."

"He's very unique, in my opinion, with those two stats. There's not a lot of guys that can do what he can do."

Hopefully, Knies continues to cement his star status with the team with a solid playoff run. The fanbase really wants to see this team shine and Knies has a chance to put himself in the history books.
