Maple Leafs Forward William Nylander Gives Cold Response After Hitting the 40-Goal Mark...Again

William Nylander has consistently been one of the best players on the Toronto Maple Leafs this season as he continues to lead the team in goals.

Although Mitch Marner has been the points leader, it is Nylander who has been getting it done around the net and for much of the season, he has been top five in NHL goals.

Last night, the Maple Leafs played the Philadelphia Flyers and won very easily by a score of 7-2, with the Swedish forward scoring two goals and adding another two assists.

This four-point night was absolutely sensational and it showcased just how good of a player Nylander truly is.

In fact, it brought his totals up to 40 goals and 77 points in 71 games played. This makes it the forward's third 40-goal season in a row, which makes him a rare breed as far as Leafs players go.

After the game, William Nylander did not seem to care that much about his recent achievement, noting that the playoffs are a lot more important to him.

He continued by saying that all he wants to do is prove his worth to the team which is good news when you consider he is making eight figures per season.

Overall, Nylander has been a huge key to the Leafs success this season and they are going to need this production in the playoffs.

The Leafs continue to be part of the Atlantic Division fight and it is going to be fascinating to see how this all plays out especially as the team takes on the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night.
