Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi recently rushed to the defense of Scott Laughton who has been getting throttled with negative commentary right now.

If there is any player on the Maple Leafs who understands what it is like to go through a goalless drought or a pointless streak this season, it would be Max Domi.
While he has had a string of successful games as of late, it is Scott Laughton who has been struggling for the team so far.
Since being acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers at the trade deadline, Laughton has played nine games and has not scored a single point.
Some fans are getting very concerned about this while others are simply chalking this up to the adjustment period that comes with changing teams.

Max Domi understands Scott Laughton's struggle

Domi is someone who is empathetic to Laughton's position as he has changed teams numerous times over the last few years.
According to Sportsnet Domi was incredibly gracious towards Laughton and showed defended him while speaking to reporters.
"I honestly believe it's one of the hardest, if not the hardest, things to do in our sport is getting traded like that at the deadline. From top to bottom, the challenges that come with that - not even anything to do with hockey, just away from the rink.

Anything from just driving to the rink or showing up and seeing different security people, all those little details that you never think of. Breakfast. OK, how do I get to the airport from the practice rink?

It sounds kind of dumb. But when you're so driven by all these rituals and routines that we have, it throws you off a little bit. So, I think that was probably the biggest challenge, but it's also a really cool opportunity."

Tonight, Scott Laughton played his former team and while he didn't get a single point, we did see Max Domi score in a 7-2 win.
Now, the Maple Leafs are tied for first in the Atlantic Division and it just so happens that they possess the tiebreaker.
If they keep this going for the last 11 games of the season, they will get the Ottawa Senators in the first round. Bring them on.
