Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Pacioretty is getting up there in age, and he has been forced to think long and hard about his future in the NHL.
Max Pacioretty was an amazing player for the Toronto Maple Leafs in the playoffs. He provided some veteran leadership, as well as some big goals when it mattered.
However, in the regular season, the forward was injured a whole lot, and there is no doubt that he is starting to get up there in age.
Today, the Leafs held their end-of-season press conference, and it was here where Pacioretty was able to update reporters on his plans for the summer.
Is Max Pacioretty coming back to the Toronto Maple Leafs?
The veteran forward ultimately announced that he would be having a conversation with his family about what is next for him.
He has yet to decide what he wants to do, and he also noted that being away from family was extremely difficult for him. Needless to say, a big decision is on the way.
Max Pacioretty says this season was tough living away from his family. Says he hasn't decided yet whether he wants to play again next season.
Pacioretty was only with the team on a one-year deal, and no one really expected him to stay with the team beyond this season.
However, in his one season in Toronto, he left an impression. He is a hard worker, and he is someone who can give you offense when you need it.
Only time will tell whether or not Pacioretty decides to return to the NHL. It will also be interesting to see what his market is.
If one thing is for certain, it is that he has had an awesome career, and we would love to see him give it one more go.
