Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitch Marner hasn't played a single game with the Las Vegas Golden Knights, and there are already some issues afoot.
Mitch Marner is going to be in for an interesting season with the Las Vegas Golden Knights, as he looks to make a good impression with his new team.
However, according to Ken Boehlke of Sin Bin Vegas, there is a real chance that the Marner experiment is a failure, at least at first.
Mitch Marner won't mesh well with Jack Eichel and Mark Stone
As Boehlke explains, Marner, Eichel, and Stone are three players who don't love to take a lot of shots, and as a result, the Golden Knights could be in trouble.
The reporter explained that the Golden Knights are projected to have the 28th most shots in the league per game next season (26.9).
This would put the Golden Knights on a level with the team's bottom feeders, including the San Jose Sharks. Needless to say, Marner needs to start shooting.
Last season, only 27 of Marner's 102 points were goals, which just goes to show that he doesn't love shooting the puck all the time.
However, Jack Eichel will make up for that, and we imagine that this duo will become a dynamic one in short order. The fans in Vegas just need to be patient.
As for Toronto Maple Leafs fans, they will be hoping and praying for Marner to be lost in Vegas.
