Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving is reportedly safe from any firings, however, MLSE CEO Keith Pelley is still intrigued by potential changes.
Earlier this week,
Toronto Maple Leafs parted ways with Brendan Shanahan after a disgusting loss in Game 7 to the Florida Panthers.
Although MLSE CEO Keith Pelley has confirmed Treliving's role moving forward, there have been rumblings that the Leafs will continue to shake up the front office.
Will the Toronto Maple Leafs keep Brad Treliving?
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, Treliving will remain the general manager. However, he will be having a meeting with Pelley to discuss what should be done next.
As Pagnotta revealed, there is a sense that more change could be coming once this meeting takes place. Although it would most affect those on the periphery.
Any additional potential management/front office changes in Toronto will come after Pelley & Treliving meet and discuss the plan moving forward. Rumblings some changes may be coming, but nothing confirmed at this time.
Needless to say, MLSE is not happy with how the Toronto Maple Leafs ended the season against the Panthers.
There have been reports that ownership is embarrassed. Having said that, it makes sense that MLSE would be so eager to make sweeping changes.
Overall, the Leafs have underperformed in the playoffs for about a decade, and now, the fans deserve a whole lot better.
With ownership looking to win a Stanley Cup, it would only make sense for more big changes to be on the horizon. Whether or not those changes actually take shape is another story altogether.
