NHL Insider Warns of Imminent Danger for Fraser Minten and Easton Cowan

In exactly one week from today, the Toronto Maple Leafs will be looking to make some big moves at the trade deadline with Fraser Minten and Easton Cowan as bait.
Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has a very simple mandate at the trade deadline and that is to improve this team so it can go on a deep playoff run.
One of the big moves that fans are hoping for is a middle-six center as well as a large defenseman who can give this blue line some much-needed depth.
Fraser Minten and Easton Cowan at the trade deadline
Centers are not easy to come by and as a result, it is being said that most opposing teams are hoping to acquire guys like Fraser Minten and Easton Cowan.
These are young prospects with a ton of upside and for the Maple Leafs, they are tough assets to trade especially because they have bright futures ahead of them.
However, according to Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet, fans should absolutely expect at least one of them to be traded at the deadline.
"I expect Minten or Cowan to be gone - pretty much - this time next week.."
One of the Leafs' top trade targets is St. Louis Blues captain Brayden Schenn, and it is being said that in order to acquire Schenn, the Leafs are going to need to give up Fraser Minten and a high draft pick.
For some, that might just be too much to bare, but if you are Treliving, your mandate is to win a Stanley Cup.
Even if the Leafs completely mortgage their future, that will not matter if the Maple Leafs are able to win a championship.
Either way, this upcoming week is going to be fascinating. The deadline might be Friday but that does not mean the Leafs won't do something before then.
One can only hope that Treliving is able to do something he has yet to accomplish since coming to Toronto: construct a blockbuster trade.
