Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson was easily one of the best additions to this team this offseason.
So far this season, he has been a beacon of consistency on the blueline and the fans have certainly enjoyed it.
Throughout the early going of the season, it has become clear that defense has been the Maple Leafs' strong suit.
Unfortunately, it would appear as though Ekman-Larsson is now the latest Maple Leafs star to get hit with the injury and illness bug.
Today, it was announced that Ekman-Larsson would not practice with the team. Meanwhile,
Philippe Myers would return from his conditioning stint with the Marlies.

With the Maple Leafs looking to play on Sunday, it is unknown whether or not Ekman-Larsson is going to be out of that lineup for that game or not.
However, there is no doubt that fans are going to be a bit concerned. After all, so many players are already out of the lineup.
Somehow, the Leafs have continued to play at a high level throughout all of this. They have won six of their last seven.
Moreover, they currently own a record of 12-6-2 which is pretty solid.
Currently, they are battling for the top spot in the Atlantic Division, although the Florida Panthers certainly look like the best team right now.
Only time will tell whether or not the Leafs can keep up their current pace, despite all of these terrible injuries.
