Tonight is the night that the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators finally begin their first round series against one another and fans are very excited.
The Ottawa Senators picked up the first Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference and now, they get to play the
Toronto Maple Leafs in the first round.
If you are a fan of the Leafs, you can't help but be a bit worried especially when you see how the Leafs have done in the playoffs in years' past.
No surprises there, but the starting goalie for the Senators is going to be none other than Linus Ullmark, who has proven that he can play at an elite level.
As for his career statistics against the Toronto Maple Leafs, they have been a bit up and down. Needless to say, he is very beatable and the Leafs shouldn't be exceptionally worried.
In his career (inc Playoffs) vs. Toronto, he has a 6-6-2 record, 2.87 GAA, .906 SV%, with 1 shutout.
With that in mind, you can't deny that the Senators have had the Leafs' number so far this season. There are no guarantees that the Leafs will be able to overcome that.
However, this is still a big moment for the team and for the fans. The city of Toronto has so much to be excited about.
As for Linus Ullmark, he will be trying to show Senators fans that he can be the franchise goaltender for years to come.
