Toronto Maple Leafs Bring in new Goalie Right Before the Playoffs

With the Toronto Maple Leafs looking to go on an NHL Playoffs run, the team has decided to bring in another goaltender to bring the total up to three.
The Toronto Maple Leafs start their playoff run on Sunday night against the Ottawa Senators and Anthony Stolarz will be the starting goalie for this important game.
However, this morning, the Leafs made a huge call up as they want a third goaltender with the team to start out the postseason.
That goaltender is none other than Artur Akhtyamov who has played the entire season with the Toronto Marlies with Matt Murray and Dennis Hildeby.

During his time with the Marlies, he had a record of 11-8-4 with a goals-against average of 2.81 and a save percentage of .901.
He also had three shutouts during this time which proved to be quite the campaign given it was his very first season in the AHL. Ultimately, Akhtyamov proved his worth.
So much so that the Leafs are now trusting him to be the third goalie during a very important playoff run. This is not what anyone would have expected.
Having said all of that, it is very unlikely that we see Artur Akthyamov in any games during this playoff run. A disaster would have to happen for this to occur.
However, this is a cool opportunity for him and it shows that the Leafs want to reward him for everything that he has done throughout the season.
This is very good to hear, and we hope the Leafs continue to go on a roll as they head into this series against the Senators.
Things are about to get interesting, and Akthyamov will have a front row seat to all of it.
