Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice weighed in on the Sam Bennett-Anthony Stolarz play and he may as well have just kept his mouth shut about it.

Anthony Stolarz was injured on Monday night in Game 1 of the second round series between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Florida Panthers.

It was all very worrisome and the fans were pretty distraught about it. After the game, they were looking for some accountability from the Panthers.
That never came as Bennett was shielded from the media. Meanwhile, Panthers head coach Paul Maurice downplayed the incident, noting the referee was right there and didn't call it.
Paul Maurice notes that referee was right there when Bennett hit Stolarz. He said he'd let media «light your hair on fire» and league do its thing, and he'll focus on coaching the next game.
Today, the Department of Player Safety will be ruling on the Bennet-Stolarz incident, and Leafs fans are hoping for some kind of suspension.
While there is no guarantee of that happening, the fact that Stolarz is concussed is definitely going to be put into consideration here.
Ultimately, the Leafs may have gotten the win last night, but long-term, their series is in jeopardy.
Only time will tell whether or not
