Reporters Reveals Every Single High-Profile Player the Toronto Maple Leafs are Targeting in Free Agency

Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has a lot to think about heading into free agency and it seems like he has his sights set on big stars.
At the trade deadline, Brad Treliving swung for the fences as he attempted to trade Mitch Marner for Mikko Rantanen, however, the former refused to waive his no-trade clause.
Marner is a free agent this summer and in the off chance that the superstar forward walks, the Maple Leafs general manager wanted to make sure that he had a different superstar locked in for eight years.
With free agency looming large, the franchise now has to shift its focus to other players, just in case they lose out on Mitch. According to Matt Larkin of The Daily Faceoff, Treliving has a ton of different names in mind.
Who are the Toronto Maple Leafs signing in free agency?
Some of those names are actually quite big and will likely give Maple Leafs fans a good bit of hope for July 1st.
Included in the report are Nikolaj Ehlers, Brock Boeser, Brock Nelson, Sam Bennett, Mikael Granlund, Brad Marchand, Jamie Benn, Aaron Ekblad, Jakob Chychrun, and even Ivan Provorov.
These are all phenomenal players and are seen as contingency plans in the case that Mitch Marner does, in fact, leave the team.
Perhaps the most realistic signing here would be Sam Bennett, who has been on the Leafs roster all season long.
Even analyst Paul Bissonnette linked the Toronto Maple Leafs to Bennett during a broadcast a few days ago.
Overall, it is going to be very interesting to see what Treliving does here, especially with the salary cap going up.
Hopefully, the team is able to conjure something up, especially if the playoffs are a failure this season. The fanbase wants something to be excited about, and free agency could definitely provide that.
