Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves was recently asked about Auston Matthews and William Nylander, which led to some interesting answers.
Ryan Reaves and the Toronto Maple Leafs may not be on the best of terms right now, as it feels like a divorce is, indeed, coming.
At 38 years old, the enforcer isn't fighting as much as he used to, and if he can't generate any offense, then he just isn't cut out for the team.
It is a hard pill to swallow, and regardless of how many times he says he wants to play two more seasons, that may not be viable.

Recently, Reaves was on the 'Cam & Strick Podcast' where he was asked about superstar forwards Auston Matthews and William Nylander.
It was here where the enforcer told the truth about both players, and just how phenomenal they are on the ice. Frankly, this is nothing Leafs fans didn't know already.
He's (Nylander) one of the most skilled players I've ever played with.
I think they're just different. I think Matthews is very good at finding spots to score. He has one of the most accurate shots out there. He plays very hard defensively - a really good stick.
Willy, you just can't take the puck off him because he's so good on his edges, and he can fly with the puck going in any direction. He'll make one move and make you miss - and Matty can do that too. I think they're just a little bit different skill-wise.

Nylander and Matthews do get their fair share of criticism, but if one thing is for certain, it is that they both care about making the Leafs better.
Only time will tell whether or not the forwards can take the Leafs to the next level next season without Mitch Marner on the team.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen if Ryan Reaves will get any playing time or if he will be traded away, like some of the rumors have suggested.
This offseason is far from being finished, and the Leafs have a lot to figure out in these coming weeks and months.
