At the end of the day, the league did what it thought it had to do and you have to respect that kind of conviction.

The Leafs have a ton of players injured right now and they are bringing in all kinds of prospects to fulfill various roles.

As for Reaves, well, he has actually been filling a different role during practice this week. According to David Alter, Reaves has been getting reps on defense.

At the time of writing this, the reasoning behind this move is kind of unknown.

However, you have to appreciate Craig Berube for going there and trying something new. At the end of the day, that is how you grow as a team.

Will Reaves actually get to play any games on defense this season? Probably not.

However, with all of these new players entering the Maple Leafs lineup on offense, it makes sense to take Reaves and put him somewhere else for a bit.

Once his suspension is over, it will be interesting to see if he gets welcomed back into the lineup and reintegrated right away.

If Fraser Minten and Alex Steeves have great games, then Reavo might be in some trouble.
