Sam Bennett speaks on Anthony Stolarz incident
However, this morning, the Panthers forward spoke to the media and revealed that he spoke personally with Anthony Stolarz last night. It was here where he revealed the nature of the conversation.
«I heard that he went to the hospital last night, and he's a good friend of mine. I reached out to him. He responded. Never want to see an injury like that. From my point of view, I'm just taking the puck the net. I didn't even know that we made contact until after.»
Of course, Bennett could not speak to Stolarz's condition. It is up to the Toronto Maple Leafs to make those comments and statements.
Having said that, it is good to see the Panthers star show some remorse after what happened. The Panthers have been moving with arrogance and this is the one humble move they've made all playoffs.
With a 1-0 series lead, it will be interesting to see how the Toronto Maple Leafs respond on Wednesday. Fans will want to see a very chippy game.
As for Anthony Stolarz, we continue to wish him the best as he recovers from his injury.
