The NHL Department of Player Safety has made an official ruling on Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett and his hit on Anthony Stolarz.
After injuring Anthony Stolarz with a dirty elbow to the head, the NHL Department of Player Safety has decided not to suspend Florida Panthers forward Sam Bennett.
The news was broken by TSN reporter Chris Johnston who has been one of the biggest insiders involved in the Stolarz story.
Sam Bennett is not expected to face any supplemental discipline for his hit on Anthony Stolarz during last night's game, per sources.
Pierre LeBrun added to the report noting that Stolarz is out of the hospital. Furthermore, the Maple Leafs will not cause a stink about any of this.
Further to this, Stolarz is out of hospital, I'm told.

Simply put, the Toronto Maple Leafs won Game 1 and that is all that they care about right now. Obviously, they for their goaltender, but they don't want to show their hand too soon.

With a 1-0 lead, the Toronto Maple Leafs can complete a sweep of home ice on Wednesday with a win. Of course, this game will be much harder to win.
Florida had bad goaltending in Game 1 and that could fix itself in time for Game 2. Although if it doesn't, then the Leafs will be in the driver's seat.
Only time will tell what this series holds for the Leafs, who are looking to make the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2002.
If they make it, then they will either faceoff against the Washington Capitals or the Carolina Hurricanes, who begin their own series tonight.
