Scott Laughton Hit with a Swift Demotion as the Toronto Maple Leafs Unveil New Lines

The Toronto Maple Leafs traded Nikita Grebenkin and a first-round pick to the Philadelphia Flyers for Scott Laughton.

When the team traded for Laughton, it was because they needed a third-line center who could turn this team into a real contender in the postseason.

Unfortunately, the center has not been particularly good and has struggled mightily throughout his first few games with the team which has led to questions about whether or not this was the right trade.

With Laughton clearly struggling, Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube has decided to make an executive decision as it pertains to his lines.

The former Philadelphia Flyers center is now going to be on the fourth line alongside Steven Lorentz and Calle Jarnkrok.

Meanwhile, Max Domi is going back to third-line center with Bobby McMann and Nicholas Robertson.

It is going to be interesting to see how this all shakes out for the Leafs, but having a center on the fourth line who you traded a first-round pick for does not bode well..

Perhaps this is the kick Laughton needs to get back into the team's good graces and perhaps even get his first points as a Leaf.

Tonight is a big game, and after losing five out of the last six games, fans are hoping for something good to finally happen. The team has found itself in third in the Atlantic Division and they are at risk of being kicked into the Wild Card conversation.

While the Flames are definitely a good team, this matchup serves as a real opportunity for the Leafs to show that they still have fight left in them. If they don't get this right, the fans are going to revolt.
