Over these last few games, the Toronto Maple Leafs have not been getting very good goaltending from Anthony Stolarz and
Joseph Woll.
Now, the Maple Leafs are preparing to play the Calgary Flames and the starting goalie decision has become that much more important.
Toronto Maple Leafs announce starting goalie
The team is on the ice for morning skate and this is where we get to see what the lineup is going to be for tonight's game.
Furthermore, it is where we get to see who the starting goalie is going to be and of course, the anticipation has been mounting.
According to Sportsnet reporter Luke Fox, the Toronto Maple Leafs are going with Joseph Woll tonight who will sport the white and green pads for St. Patrick's Day.
Joseph Woll has some interesting stats this season as he has a goals-against average of 2.78 and a save percentage of .905.
Overall, these statistics are pretty average and aren't exactly anything to write home about. However, they do put the Leafs in a solid position to win tonight.
The Maple Leafs have lost five of their last six games and are currently in a fight for
the Atlantic Division title. However, they currently sit tied for second, four points back of the Florida Panthers.
Only time will tell whether or not Toronto can snap out of this streak and get themselves back into the win column, once and for all.
There is a lot riding on this season and as such, goalies like Woll are faced with mounting pressure.
