The Toronto Maple Leafs haven't had much to cheer about as of late but that all changed recently thanks to the New York Islanders Vs. Florida Panthers game.

Throughout the past few weeks, Maple Leafs fans have been occupied with the heated race for the Atlantic Division lead, which is currently being held by the Florida Panthers.
Overall, the lead has grown to four points when just a few days ago, the Leafs had a chance to take the lead during a game against Florida.
They went on to lose that game and would also lose to the Ottawa Senators on Saturday, which ultimately had the fanbase in complete and utter shambles.

New York Islanders bless the Toronto Maple Leafs

Now, the Maple Leafs are third in the Atlantic Division as they are tied with the Tampa Bay Lightning with 81 points.
Interestingly enough, Toronto is also just four points up on the Ottawa Senators which means they could be overtaken for a Wild Card spot which would be an absolute disaster.
Last night, the Florida Panthers played the New York Islanders and it was the perfect opportunity to increase their lead on the Leafs and Lightning to six points.
However, the Islanders did everyone a huge solid and won the game by a score of 4-2 which means the Panthers are 1-3 in their last four games, just like Toronto.
Now, the Maple Leafs actually have to go out and win games, otherwise, this is going to be an abject disaster.
The Calgary Flames will be waiting for Toronto tonight during the St. Patrick's Day throwback game. For all intents and purposes, it should be a very fun matchup.
These next 16 games are going to be crucial to the Maple Leafs season and fans are hoping to have something to cheer about.
If they do not get it together, they could very well be a first-round exit, all over again.
