Anthony Stolarz and Joseph Woll are both viable options against the Ottawa Senators in Game 5 and one of them just so happened to miss practice today.
Joseph Woll has been in consideration to start Tuesday night's Game 5 against the Ottawa Senators following a lackluster performance from Anthony Stolarz on Saturday night.
Having said that, it is looking very unlikely that Woll will get the start in Game 5. Why? Well, he was sick at practice today and did not participate.
Joseph Woll out of Maple Leafs practice
According to Luke Fox of Sportsnet, Woll was suffering from some sort of illness and took the day off.
Woll was not the only player who took a day off today as
Auston Matthews was also absent from practice, citing a rest day.
Instead,
Artur Akhtyamov and Anthony Stolarz were the goalies who got to be on the ice today before a pivotal Game 5 that in the eyes of Leafs fans, is a do or die.
With the home crowd behind them on Tuesday night, it does feel like this would be the perfect time for the Leafs to come through and pull out a win.
Stolarz needs to have a big game like he had early on the series. If that happens, then the Leafs will most certainly advance to the next round.
If not, then perhaps Joseph Woll will have to be the guy in Game 6, even if that is a huge risk.
