Free agent NHL forward Jack Roslovic needs a new contract, and with the Toronto Maple Leafs sniffing around for talent, something could get done very soon.
Jack Roslovic is a player who has been on the Toronto Maple Leafs' radar for weeks at this point, but a deal has yet to be completed.
Last season with the Carolina Hurricanes, Roslovic had 22 goals and 17 assists for 39 points, making him a solid bottom-six forward who would be an upgrade from what the Leafs got last season.
However, with Dakota Joshua and Nicolas Roy joining the team, there have been concerns about whether or not Roslovic would be redundant.
Is Jack Roslovic going to the Toronto Maple Leafs?
Recently, Frank Seravalli did a livestream for Bleacher Report, where he revealed that the Roslovic situation is about to reach a climax as his agent is set to get him a deal very soon.
As for the Maple Leafs, they remain one of the best fits for the forward. Unfortunately, their cap situation remains the only thing standing in the way.
They are getting closer; some people seem to wonder is Toronto the fit? I could see that happening, but we know Toronto's cap situation is still going to be tight
If the Toronto Maple Leafs can get Roslovic, then it would be a huge boost to the bottom six. Unfortunately, they still need a top six winger to complement John Tavares and Auston Matthews.
The first half of August has been pretty slow for the Maple Leafs, but it is expected to pick up very soon, which is great news for the fans out there.
As for Roslovic, one has to assume he will get an NHL job very soon. You don't get ousted after scoring 22 goals in a season.
Numerous teams could use this forward, and we're sure we will be getting some clarity on the situation, very soon.
