Top Insider Claims Toronto Maple Leafs Are Preparing to Commit a Heist on the Boston Bruins

Lane Lambert got a major job opportunity last week as the Seattle Kraken hired him to become their franchise's next head coach.

Now, there is a vacancy within the Leafs organization, and head coach Craig Berube is certainly eager to fill that role before other coaches get scooped by opposing teams.

In a new report from Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, it was revealed that the Leafs may very well be eyeing a prominent coach in Boston, who has been given his walking papers.

Joe Sacco was named interim head coach for the Bruins earlier this season. However, the team couldn't improve its place in the standings. Instead, they fell off hard at the end and missed the playoffs.

On '32 Thoughts,' Friedman confirmed that Sacco would be on his way out of Boston and that the Leafs are a franchise that makes sense for him, moving forward.

There have been other names floated around in regards to the open assistant coaching position with the Leafs. One name fans would love to see is Bruce Boudreau.

Boudreau has a wealth of experience as a head coach in the NHL, and he is a fan favorite thanks to his brutal honesty and kind demeanor.

Whether or not the Leafs make a coaching decision anytime soon remains to be seen. As of right now, their priority is free agency and getting their roster in order.

If one thing is for certain, it is that the next few weeks are going to be very interesting, and the fans will be anxious throughout it.
