Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews has been going through a lot this season, and based on everything we have seen, it's clear his health is not 100%.
Auston Matthews has struggled at times this season, and it has led to a lot of questions surrounding his health and whether or not he has a lingering issue.
Essentially, the captain has confirmed that he is playing through something. Although he claims that at this point in the season, everyone is.
Asked about his health, Auston Matthews reiterates that no one is 100 per cent and everyone is pushing through something at this time of year.
Matthews has been abysmal so far against the Florida Panthers with zero goals in the first five games of the series.
If the Leafs want any chance at winning this series, they will need their captain to score some sort of goal, and fast.
Maple Leafs vs. Panthers Game 6
Game 6 is set to go down tonight at 8 PM Eastern Standard Time and can be watched on both Sportsnet and TNT.
This is going to be a big game for Matthews and his teammates. If they lose, then big changes are likely coming in the offseason.
Mitch Marner and
John Tavares could very well be gone this summer. That should light a fire under some of these guys to put in a big performance when it counts.
The Leafs, as constructed, have forced plenty of Game 7s before. It would be nice for them to finally go out and win one.
