Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz got injured in Game 1 against the Florida Panthers and he has been out of the lineup ever since.
Anthony Stolarz was a big reason why the Toronto Maple Leafs had a ton of success during the regular season and even the first round of the NHL Playoffs.
However, in Game 1 against the Florida Panthers, he was taken out by the elbow of
Sam Bennett and he hasn't been back since.
Anthony Stolarz out for Game 7
Tonight, the Leafs and Panthers play in Game 7 and everyone knows already that Joseph Woll will have to be the starter.
Unfortunately, Stolarz won't even be the backup.
Matt Murray continues to be the backup as Stolarz was not on the ice for morning skate. A sobering update all things considered.
Anthony Stolarz didn't take part in the Leafs morning skate on Sunday.
It appears that Matt Murray will again back up Joseph Woll in Game 7.
If the Maple Leafs lose tonight, then we will not see Anthony Stolarz for the rest of the NHL Playoffs.
However, a Leafs win would mean Stolarz could return around the Eastern Conference Finals, albeit later in the series.
That said, the Leafs need to think about tonight and winning. For them, there is a whole lot on the line and this game could mean everything.
If they win, the fans are going to be prepared for Game 1 against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday. A loss may just be the end of the world.
