Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube delivered an update on goaltender Anthony Stolarz this morning that a lot of fans are going to be upset with.
Today, some were hoping that a positive update on
Anthony Stolarz could change everything for the Leafs. Unfortunately, that is not going to happen.
While speaking to reporters, Berube confirmed that Stolarz will not play in Game 6 and that it is even doubtful for him to make the trip to Florida.
Craig Berube, on if Anthony Stolarz will travel to Florida for Game 6: "I doubt it."
Overall, this is not good news for the Leafs faithful who probably wanted to hear at least one good thing amidst all of the chaos that the team is going through.
At this point,
Joseph Woll is not getting the job done and it is not like
Matt Murray is going to start playing like he did all the way back in 2016 and 2017.
Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Florida Panthers Game 6
Ultimately, Game 6 has a lot of weight to it when you consider everything that the Toronto Maple Leafs have been through this season and even over the years.
If they cannot figure it out and give the fans a reason to cheer on Friday, then some guys are going to have to leave the team in disgrace.
It might be a bit much to say something like that, but this team has proven time and time again that it cannot win.
Hopefully, this team pulls through and plays the best two games of their lives on Friday and Sunday.
