Toronto Maple Leafs fans were distraught after a horrible Game 5 against the Ottawa Senators in which the team lost by a truly pathetic score of 4-0.
Last night, the
Toronto Maple Leafs had the perfect opportunity to knock off the Ottawa Senators in Game 5 of their first round NHL Playoffs series.
The fans are pretty fed up with this reality and if you continue to be a Maple Leafs fan, there is probably something wrong with you. You must be a glutton for punishment.
Maple Leafs fans mass exodus from Scotiabank Arena
As it turns out, the fans at Scotiabank Arena last night were not going to allow themselves to witness such blasphemy.
Instead, as seen in the photo below, a bunch of fans just got up and left with a few minutes to go. The game was completely out of reach and there was very little interest in watching the match reach its conclusion.
The emptiness of the arena should be seen as a stark message to this Leafs squad. The fans are not going to tolerate any mediocrity.
Of course, Game 6 will not be at the Scotiabank Arena. Instead, it will take place at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.
A loss would mean a Game 7 back in Toronto, and no one wants that because it would be even more anxiety enducing.
All we know at this point is that things are looking pretty bleak for the Toronto Maple Leafs, despite being up in the series. That's just the kind of luck they have.
Hopefully, the Maple Leafs are able to prove everyone wrong on Thursday and get themselves to the second round once and for all.
