Toronto Maple Leafs Fans Crown Surprising Choice for Best Coach in Franchise History
The Toronto Maple Leafs have had numerous coaches throughout their long history, although in modern times, there is one man who has continued to endure as a legend.
Throughout the years, the Toronto Maple Leafs have had a mixed bag of head coaches. Some have been amazing, others have been terrible.
Some have been just okay, while others have been good enough to win games, but nothing special once the playoffs roll around.
Fortunately, the Leafs have also had leaders of men, who have risen to the occasion and have helped the team reach new heights when the games become their most important.
Pat Burns crowned best head coach
The fanbase chose
Pat Burns, who coached the team from 1992 to 1996. During this time, he led the team to two straight Conference Final appearances.
This was after he was the head coach of the Montreal Canadiens, and before he coached the Boston Bruins. He later coached the New Jersey Devils and won a Stanley Cup.
Unfortunately, Pat Burns eventually lost his life to a long battle with cancer.
However, during his time in the NHL, he was able to make a huge impact on his players and remains one of the most beloved men in the sport.
He was someone who valued his roles in the league, and players loved to play for him. It's unfortunate he lost his life so soon.
Hopefully, the legacy of Pat Burns is kept alive for years to come.
