Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Pacioretty has been a solid addition to the roster this season and he continues to show resiliency despite his age and injuries.
When the Maple Leafs signed
Max Pacioretty, there were certainly concerns that his injury issues would ultimately rule him ineffective with the team.
While he has been injured on two separate occasions this season, he has played a total of 32 games which is more than he played last year.
Max Pacioretty approaching Maple Leafs bonus incentive
Interestingly enough, the Maple Leafs weren't so sure that he would be able to give the team an entire season's worth of hockey.
With that in mind, the team offered Pacioretty a deal with games-played incentives. In fact, if the former Montreal Canadiens captain plays 35 games, he gets an extra $313,115.
Well, he is officially three games away from that milestone and we imagine he will get to it very soon.
He took a puck to the head against the Canadiens on Saturday and since that time, he has been trying to recover.
For now, he is listed as day-to-day and it is likely that he will be out of tonight's game as the Leafs take on the Columbus Blue Jackets.
As it stands, the Leafs are on a three-game winning streak and they have been firing on all cylinders during this time.
Hopefully, the Leafs can get Pacioretty back soon as he looks to get his first Stanley Cup ring near the end of his career.
